This rich hydrological framework highlights the region’s historic agricultural vocation, which developed after the reclamation of once marshy and swampy lands<\/strong>.<\/p>

This geographical setup gave rise to the legend of Lake Gerundo<\/strong>, a vast body of water supposedly created through floodings and hosting a monstrous creature called Tarantasio<\/strong>, miraculously slain by Saint Christopher on the banks of the Lodi basin.<\/p>

The earliest records of Crema<\/strong> date back to the 11th century, indicating that it was a strategically significant center from its origins.<\/p>

After being rebuilt, Crema experienced a prosperous period until its conquest in 1449 by Venice<\/strong>.
